NSDC

About This Course

Our country has a history of craftsmen working with wood, be it is handicrafts, carvings, architectural designs or furniture. Indian wood workers still work in the ancestral style of using simple tools. Working with wood or wood works has grown into an industry which includes the stages of procurement of the wood, distributing it, and working alongside carpenters. They also came to be known as the Intermediate Carpenters. Intermediate Carpenters often work alone or in coordination with other carpenters, depending on the project. Like other masonry / carpentry jobs, these workers also mostly hail from the unorganized sector. Today, their training requires having knowledge about tools and equipment’s as well as computer-controlled machinery.
